Firm’s top designers dream up incredible device which looks like something an ancient scribe would scribble on
APPLE has invented a bizarre new tablet computer which rolls up like a scroll.
The tech giant has been granted a patent for an “electronic devices with retractable display” which looks like the sort of thing an ancient scribe would write on.
However, if the device ever sees the light of day it’s likely to be called the iScroll – or perhaps the iFajita.
This drawing shows the iScroll rolled up. The two housings store the screen as well as cameras or other circuitry which powers it
The screen can then be rolled out from the two housings
However, there’s nothing old school about the technology it uses.
The device features two barrel-shaped “housings” which contain “speakers, microphones, cameras, and other components”.
These housing can also store a screen, which rolls up neatly inside them.
This display can then be stored away when not in use and then rolled out when it’s required.
Apple patents for all manner of strange and wonderful items which might not necessarily make it into production.
