Biloxi, Mississippi-Dec. 1; Coastal Family Health Center’s mobile medical unit will hold flu shot events for the community Friday, Dec. 4, Friday, Dec. 11, and Friday, Dec. 18.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states “Getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever during 2020-2021 to protect yourself, your family and your community from flu. A flu vaccine this season can also help reduce the burden on our health care systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and save medical resources for the care of COVID-19 patients.” Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to take part in this community event.
The flu shot events will take place at the following locations;
- The Salvation Army’s Kroc Center (575 Division St. Biloxi) on Dec. 4
- Goodwill-Long Beach (200 W. Railroad St. Long Beach)
- Pass Christian Public Library (111 Hiern Ave. Pass Christian).
All flu shot events will take place from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. and are administered at no out-of-pocket cost. Those that participate in getting their flu shot receive a flu fighter t-shirt. T-shirts are generously donated by SHEA and are available while supplies last.
