If you are a Gmail user then things might have just got extra secure. Well, Gmail for iOS has just got a new functionality added to its platform. The e-mail app will now alert users whenever a suspicious link appears in the inbox.

“Going forward, when you click on a suspicious link in a Gmail message on your iPhone or iPad, we’ll show the warning below. We recommend that you use caution before proceeding because the link is likely unsafe. Only proceed if you’re confident there’s no risk,” the company said in its blog post. Basically, the suspicious link warning will pop up in a box that states how the link leads to an untrusted site.

Google has already launched anti-phishing protection with the Android version of Gmail earlier this year. However, now the iOS version of Gmail will also offer this feature. So iOS users can now be safer than before.

The update has been released and Google says that it is available to all G-Suite editions. The feature will take at-least 15 days to appear in Gmail.
