Learn how to say goodbye.
Spiritfarer, developed by Jotun developer Thunder Lotus, will be arriving on Xbox One and PC with the player tasked to “Build, care, explore, and learn how to say goodbye.”
Spiritfarer is a beautifully crafted world that features humans and animals living together on some type of ship. As players progress through the game, they will be able to build up and upgrade their ship, and see the improvements occur in real time as it grows larger with each upgrade.
The main character appears to have a cat friend following them, even when they go out and explore the world outside the safety of the ship. There will be mining, forging relationships, baking cakes, planting, exploring and sailing while animal friends play various instruments.
The game will feature a day/night cycle and dynamic weather, with the main character having some control over the elements.
A big focus on the game will be saying goodbye to your friends as well. The worldwide premiere showed the main character on a boat saying goof bye to a anthropomorphic deer ashe vanished via a blinding light.
Spiritfarer will be headed to Xbox One and PC and will be playable via Xbox Game Pass in 2020.
In our review of Thunder Lotus’ Jotun, we said “Jotun is a wondrous trek through Norse mythology and the imposing giant bosses that inhabit its rich, beautiful world.”
