Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale Available for Pre-register on iOS and Android

Independent game developer Slothwerks finally released the pre-registration for their second game on iOS and Android devices in the Meteorfall universe: Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale. The game is neither a sequel nor expansion, but another storyline that exists within the previous game, Meteorfall: Journeys. For those who may be unaware, Meteorfall: Journeys and Krumit’s Tale are fantasy, card-based role-playing games. Players will choose their hero, adventure off into a labyrinth, fight monsters, solve riddles and puzzles, and discover new treasures in dungeons. For a better idea, the game is “like Adventure Time (a major inspiration for Meteorfall)” – stated in Slothwerk’s article.

The main objective of Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale is to defeat monsters and complete dungeons. Starting with 50 cards in a deck, players can fight against over 20 different monsters within the Meteorfall universe. These fights occur by placing cards on a three by three grid field and, if the cards are used right, players can strategize their gameplays through creative combos using items/abilities acquired in previous battles. After a battle is over, gold can be acquired for additional items/abilities to strengthen decks. As a result, the combination of resources and battle strategies will allow players to continue their quest to complete various battles to clear a dungeon.

For better gameplay, however, there needs to better cards. Players will have two ways to do this. One is through the Mint Candy boxes which players can choose one out of the three prizes/cards to place in their decks at the end of each battle. Second is through the shop, where players use gems obtained after completing a dungeon, to buy cards. Through these two methods, players can obtain new cards, customize their decks, and defeat stronger opponents in battle. Players must, however, be careful with how these cards are played through the game. Card use during battle lowers its durability, so the goal is to strategize how to effectively use the cards well.
