LAWTON, OK (KSWO)- Learning to work together. That was the goal of a networking reception today, joining together nonprofits from southwest Oklahoma.
The reception was held at the Youth Services of Stephens County. The guest of honor was Jerry Wright – who is the director of the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. Wright is responsible for helping nonprofits all across the southern part of the state.
He answers any questions about budget, legal advice, and others. Today’s host feels it was critical for nonprofits to get together to not only meet Wright but each other as well.
“My goal is to get this community to talk to network to partner because nonprofits are only as strong as our partnerships and our collaborations and it is so much more fun to do what we do when we can partner with 3 or 4 different agencies rather than being the only person doing the work> Sara Orellana-Paape, the executive director of Youth Services.”
We also spoke with Wright who tells 7News nonprofits are so critical for communities – especially with recent budget restrictions.
